Joining us now means making an impact at a critical stage of growth, where your contributions will have direct influence on our trajectory.

2. About this role:

2.1 Why we’re hiring a Client Partner

As BoardOutlook continues to grow at pace, and expand its impact across leading organisations globally, we are deepening our focus on helping boards translate insight into meaningful, sustained improvement. Our platform provides powerful data, benchmarks, and guidance to boards and directors. But the true value is realised when those insights are embedded into the way boards work and make decisions.

To support this, we are hiring a Client Partner who will play a pivotal role in strengthening relationships with our clients, ensuring they achieve maximum value and long-term success with BoardOutlook.

The Client Partner will take ownership of a portfolio of key client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to chairs, boards, and company secretaries. They will help clients interpret their results, and share our experience of how we are seeing other similar boards translate insights into actions that enhance board performance. Working closely with our Product and Sales teams, the Client Partner will ensure every client engagement is strategic, seamless, and aligned with their priorities.

In doing so, this role will be central to scaling our impact - driving client satisfaction, retention and expansion, while reinforcing BoardOutlook’s position as the trusted partner for boards striving for excellence.

2.2 What your first six months will look like

We expect you to deliver meaningful outcomes early. In your first six months, you will:

  • Build strong relationships with Chairs and Directors. Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with our clients - in particular, chairs and board directors. You’ll engage with these individuals multiple times a year to understand their priorities, challenges, and focus areas, ensuring that every interaction adds insight and value. Your ability to listen, connect, and anticipate their needs will help position BoardOutlook as a trusted long-term partner.

  • Work in partnership with Company Secretaries. Support clients to get the most out of the platform and to interpret and get the most out of the insights surfaced - including guiding them on how to strengthen board performance, enhance governance effectiveness, and track progress over time.

  • Drive awareness and adoption of the BoardOutlook toolkit. Introduce clients to the full suite of tools available on the platform from board reviews and skills matrices to CEO360 evaluations and beyond. You’ll identify opportunities for deeper engagement and help boards embed these tools into their annual governance program.

  • Act as an internal subject matter expert on governance. Leverage your understanding of corporate governance and board effectiveness to inform how we service our clients. You’ll share insights internally, collaborate with our Product team, and contribute to the evolution of our offerings to ensure they continue to meet the needs of high-performing boards.

3. About you:

We’re looking for someone with a strong track record in corporate governance, client service, law, or management consulting, ideally with 7+ years of experience working with boards, directors and/or senior executives. You’ll bring highly developed relationship and networking skills, along with the credibility and insight needed to engage meaningfully with those operating at the most senior levels of organisations.

You may have experience as a Company Secretary, governance professional, or legal advisor, or have worked in a consulting or SaaS environment where you’ve supported leadership teams to improve performance and effectiveness. Regardless of your background, you share our belief that great boards make a difference - and that data, insight, and partnership can help them achieve it.

You will also bring:

  • Deep understanding of the Chair role: You’ve spent time working with chairs and senior board leaders, and you’re comfortable operating in this environment. You understand the unique pressures of the role, the range of leadership styles that can be effective, and the subtle dynamics that shape boardroom decision-making.

  • Strong grasp of board roles and responsibilities: You understand - both in theory and in practice - the governance, oversight, and strategic functions of the board. You bring credibility when speaking with directors and can engage in nuanced conversations about board effectiveness, accountability, and value creation.

  • Large and complex organisational experience. You’ve worked with large, complex organisations - ideally listed companies - and appreciate the competing priorities and expectations of their many stakeholders, including investors, employees, regulators, and proxy advisors. You bring a sophisticated understanding of how these pressures influence board and executive behaviour.

  • Highly consultative and facilitative approach. You are an exceptional listener and facilitator, able to adapt your style to suit the needs of each client and context. You take the time to uncover what truly matters to your clients and work in partnership to define and address the underlying challenges they face.

  • A focus on technology and automation. You’re naturally inclined towards ‘early adoption’ and are always focused on automation and simplification of processes.

  • Affinity for early-stage purpose-driven businesses. You thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and enjoy the breadth and autonomy that comes with an early-stage company. You’re motivated by impact and the opportunity to help shape how things are done. You share our belief in building technology that makes boards, and the organisations they serve, stronger.

4. Location

This is a London, United Kingdom based role. Our head office is in Melbourne, with a team in London where we envisage you will be based. We work flexibly, but expect regular collaboration across time zones and international travel for key meetings and events.

We are only considering candidates with full working rights in the UK.

5. Compensation

We offer a competitive compensation package for this role and we also offer a generous ESOP (share option) grant for permanent employees. The ESOP gives employees meaningful financial participation and upside in the success of the business.

6. Hiring process

Our hiring process is designed to test three things:

  • Capability to deliver on the role requirements (including a short practical test).

  • Approach and drivers, explored through interviews and references.

  • Cultural fit, tested against our target behaviours.

You can expect three interviews plus a short practical test. We respect your time and typically get back to candidates within days, not weeks.
